Job Description

Birg Law is a growing business immigration practice serving entrepreneurs, investors, executives, and professionals from around the world. We are looking for an experienced business immigration paralegal who can own a caseload, work directly with sophisticated clients, and help us keep delivering excellent results as we grow. What You Will Do Independently prepare, assemble, and file employment-based and business immigration cases across the full spectrum of the practice — nonimmigrant work visas, employment-based green card petitions, PERM labor certifications, and related filings — under attorney supervision Draft petition support letters, declarations, and RFE responses; organize and analyze supporting evidence Manage a high-volume caseload with competing deadlines: track case status, government processing, and filing windows so that nothing slips Serve as a primary point of contact for clients: run intake for new matters, gather documents, and keep clients informed by phone and email with limited supervision Maintain the firm's case management, database, and CRM systems so that matters, documents, and workflows stay organized and current Support attorneys and teammates on special projects and other duties as assigned What We Are Looking For 3+ years of paralegal experience in U.S. business/employment-based immigration (law firm or in-house) Hands-on experience preparing employment-based petitions and filings from start to finish, not just supporting them Excellent written
English:
you can produce a clean first draft of a support letter or client email that needs little editing Strong judgment and comfort with ambiguity — you can move a case forward with incomplete information and know when to escalate Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and hit tight deadlines without sacrificing accuracy Experience with immigration case management software, databases, and CRM tools; proficiency with Microsoft Office Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with clients from diverse cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team Preferred Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or foreign law degree Fluency in Russian and/or Ukrainian (strongly preferred) Business development instincts — you notice opportunities to serve clients better and help the practice grow Compensation and Benefits 72,000 - Starting Salary , commensurate with experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Opportunity to grow with the firm and take on increasing responsibility Schedule and Location Full-time, Monday to Friday In person at 1 Northfield Plaza, Northfield, IL 60093 To apply , please submit your resume along with a short note describing the types of business immigration cases you have handled and your role in preparing them.
