A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Primary Job Duties:
Record daily billable time in time and billing system Organize, analyze and maintain medical files Review, organize and prepare medical and event chronologies or summaries of medical care Update chronologies or summaries as new records are received Perform medical research on relevant issues Analyze pharmacy records for consistency of provider and complaint Analyze medical bills for providers and treatments consistent with chief complaints and for the cause of the action Assist attorneys and staff with medical issues, deciphering handwriting, and answering questions Locate, contact and/or interview parties, witnesses, and experts regarding their care, treatment and/or opinions Prepare medical records to be provided to experts and maintain a record of the same Prepare materials for meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, including preparation of exhibits and notebooks Prepare and issue Non-Party Requests for medical, pharmacy and/or billing records and ensure all such records are received along with necessary Certification of Authenticity Communicate with opposing counsel, co-counsel, clients, insureds, expert witnesses, court personnel, and others, to facilitate progress of cases Communicate with vendors regarding copying, preparation of exhibits, and imaging Any other related tasks that may be assigned by Management or Supervising Attorney(s)Key Competencies:
