Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Criminal Legal Assistant to join our legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support to attorneys handling a wide range of criminal law cases, ensuring smooth case progression and excellent client service. Your proactive approach, organizational skills, and legal support expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of our criminal law practice. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with case management, including organizing and maintaining legal files using document management systems. Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery materials with attention to accuracy and confidentiality. Manage client communications through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence; ensure timely follow-up on case updates. Support court filings by preparing documents and filing them electronically or in person as needed. Coordinate interviews with clients, witnesses, experts, and other parties; document findings thoroughly for case development. Assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, creating timelines, and managing case files for litigation processes across civil and criminal courts. Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars. Qualifications Proven legal support experience within criminal law. Familiarity with legal drafting, document review, and confidentiality handling procedures. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Word processing, proofreading, and data entry tasks. Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; professional phone etiquette required. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly with integrity; experience in legal administrative support is preferred. Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
