A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Paralegal/Legal Assistant Job Description We are looking for an experienced personal injury/litigation paralegal to join our team. You will work under the supervision of more than one attorney. Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate with witnesses, clients, colleagues and partners
  • Perform initial screening of clients
  • Draft correspondence
  • Draft simple and complex legal documents
  • Maintain frequent contact with clients
  • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines and provide timely reminders Skills
  • Previous experience as a personal injury/litigation paralegal
  • Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, dictaphone etc)
  • Working knowledge of litigation management software systems is a plus
  • Proficiency in English
  • Outstanding time-management and typing skills
  • Ability to multitask and being comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people
