Legal Assistant - Estate Planning, Probate & Elder Law Martin Law Firm LLC - Greenfield, Indiana Martin Law Firm has an opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. Under general supervision, this position supports the delivery of high-quality legal services by providing administrative and technical assistance to the firm's attorney, performing a variety of legal assistant and administrative duties, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position works closely under the supervision and mentorship of the firm's senior paralegal while also supporting the firm's attorney. The role requires a high degree of initiative, organization, sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion. In this position, you will play an important role in the client experience- from welcoming clients and gathering initial information to assisting with document preparation, coordinating meetings, and guiding clients through the document signing process. This is a position with hands-on training and mentorship. The successful candidate is expected to develop into a paralegal through continued learning, demonstrated proficiency, and increasing responsibility. Compensation will grow accordingly. Key Responsibilities Assist the senior paralegal and attorney in preparing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, deeds, and business formation documents. Assist with deed preparation and electronic recording. Gather client information and documentation needed for estate planning and probate matters. Work closely with the senior paralegal and attorney to coordinate appointments, explain next steps, and guide clients through the planning and signing process. Proofread, format, assemble, and organize legal documents to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage and maintain organized client files using MyCase, Microsoft Word, and other office technology. Coordinate attorney schedules, client meetings, and document signings to ensure a smooth workflow. Provide administrative and operational support, including file management, scanning, correspondence, and client communications. Handle phone and email inquiries with professionalism and a client-first approach. What We're Looking For At least two years of experience as a legal assistant is preferred. Equivalent education, training, or closely related experience will also be considered. Excellent organizational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and legal practice management software (such as MyCase). Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Clear, professional communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a confident, client-centered phone presence. A high level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and the ability to maintain strict client confidentiality. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to providing outstanding client service.
