A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

- Excellent written communication skills.
- Able to work independently.
- 2-3 years of law firm experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or related associate degree (Paralegal studies) preferred.
- Paralegal Certification preferred.
- Proficient user in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Knowledge of, or eagerness to learn, the federal and state electronic filing requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist attorney in case management - scheduling and tracking client meetings, court appearances, hearings, and docket calls, drafting pleadings, sending correspondence, etc.
- Drafting and e-filing pleadings with various court systems and following up with court personnel as needed.
- Assist attorney with day-to-day tasks including scheduling, establishing and maintaining client files.
