We are looking for a legal assistant to grow our legal team. When clients hire us, they are going through an emotionally difficult period in their lives, and our goal is to help them make their lives better. Our legal assistant will interact and build relationships with clients, while supporting our attorneys with drafting and communication with clients and various professional entities. This position requires empathy, above-average attention to detail, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time.
Compensation:
$17
  • $18 hourly
Responsibilities:
This role will manage specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The person in this position will take work seriously, have a strong sense of duty, and be disciplined. A somewhat faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position, and detailed, specialized work is the major focus. The person in this position will be provided with clearly defined work, responsibilities, and reporting relationships, and ongoing and thorough training to develop expertise and increase confidence. They will receive frequently expressed appreciation for their competence, conscientiousness, and loyalty. The position will provide security in a stable work environment, allowing the person to plan for, focus on, and complete tasks on hand. The position will generally be task-oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work. This position involves administrative duties related to drafting and case management, as well as interpersonal duties to assist the firm in providing a high standard of service to clients.
Qualifications:
Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs Some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills 1-2 years of experience in a law firm or healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of confidentiality requirements and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
