A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Legal Administrative Assistant Seeking a legal assistant with paralegal experience to assist a general practice attorney covering the following areas of law; Litigation mostly around contract disputes construction or real estate, land issues, easements, personal injury and landlord/tenant.
Other areas of law:
real estate commercial and residential, estate and probate, corporate, business and general counsel. Main duties and tasks include opening matters and calendaring utilizing MyCase, with a main focus on keeping track of and entering attorney time and client billing, formatting pleadings, letters, preparing certified mailings, proof-reading and revisions of documents, e-filing with MA courts, familiarity with process service, scanning and saving docs as well as maintaining files and general administrative tasks and assisting the real estate paralegal with closings from time to time. We are a small busy law office in the center of beautiful West Concord, seeks a highly organized administrative assistant to join our team. Although we work hard every day, and deal with serious matters, we try to keep our humor, and maintain a relatively casual atmosphere, when possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgement. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Willing and able to learn proprietary software. Ability to maintain accuracy while working with tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
