Job Description:
Global Coordination:
Manage domestic and international filings with the USPTO and foreign law offices, ensuring seamless operations across borders.
Docket Management:
Maintain an organized docket system, tracking due dates for actions such as responses, renewals, oppositions, PCT requirements, and payment of patent annuities globally.
Document Preparation:
Prepare and file essential documents with the USPTO and foreign counsel, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Assignment Management:
Handle the preparation and recording of patent assignments with precision.
Client Communication:
Draft and send correspondence to clients, providing clear and timely updates.
Reporting:
Generate comprehensive status summary reports for attorneys and clients, keeping everyone informed and on track.
Foreign Correspondence:
Review and take action on correspondence received from foreign associates, maintaining effective communication channels.
Legalization & Certification:
Obtain necessary legalizations and certifications efficiently.
Research Excellence:
Conduct thorough research and compile information on national and international patent rights, utilizing USPTO records, industry databases, and other legal resources.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred; Paralegal certification is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of patent experience required.
Expertise:
Familiarity with U.S. and foreign patent work, including prosecution, maintenance, and renewals.
Tech-Savvy:
Proficient in Word, Excel, and capable of working with databases like Innovation, PATTSY, Lexis/Nexis, and more.
Problem Solver:
Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle confidential information with discretion, and produce consistently accurate work.
Organized:
Exceptional organizational skills with the versatility to adapt and multi-task in a high-pressure environment.
Detail-Oriented:
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
Team Player:
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a commitment to professionalism and a strong work ethic.
Eager Learner:
Willingness to embrace new research materials and practice tools.
