Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support legal and administrative operations for a 6-week assignment in downtown Baltimore. This contract role is expected to last approximately 6 weeks and will assist with document preparation, court-related filings, case coordination, and general legal office support. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable working with legal records, deadlines, and tax-related documentation in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare draft legal responses, including notices of intention to defend and answers, for attorney or authorized reviewer approval before submission
  • File pleadings and related legal documents with the appropriate court or agency and distribute copies to involved parties as required
  • Maintain and organize legal files, correspondence, and case records to ensure accurate documentation and easy retrieval
  • Coordinate calendars, track filing deadlines, and support scheduling for matters requiring timely legal action
  • Assist with drafting letters, affidavits, notices, and other legal or administrative documents tied to active matters
  • Support discovery-related tasks, including document collection, review preparation, and management of electronic records
  • Use case management and e-filing systems to update matter status, store records, and monitor submission activity Requirements
  • Experience providing administrative support in a legal, court, or government office setting
  • Working knowledge of court filings, e-filing procedures, and legal document handling
  • Ability to prepare draft pleadings, notices, letters, and related legal documentation with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with legal file organization and case management software
  • Strong calendar management skills and the ability to track multiple deadlines accurately
  • Experience supporting discovery or e-discovery activities is preferred
