Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to support a busy legal team in Baltimore, Maryland. This contract opportunity is well suited for someone who can balance case coordination, document review, and deadline management in a litigation-focused environment. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to keep matters moving efficiently while communicating effectively with clients and legal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Support attorneys with discovery activities, due diligence efforts, and review of case materials to identify items needing legal attention before submission.
  • Examine incoming records and document productions for completeness, then upload and organize materials accurately within the case management system.
  • Maintain orderly electronic case files and closing documentation so records remain accessible, current, and audit-ready.
  • Assist with building cases through review of financial and medical documentation, preparation of exhibits, and concise summaries of evidence and disclosures.
  • Coordinate communication with clients, opposing counsel, experts, courts, lenders, agents, and vendors to gather information and keep case activity on track.
  • Track filing deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trial-related dates while helping ensure submissions meet applicable court rules and procedural requirements.
  • Conduct legal and factual research using appropriate resources and apply knowledge of legal terminology and processes in daily case support.
  • Respond effectively to routine procedural questions and provide timely service to internal and external contacts involved in active matters. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or completion of a paralegal studies certificate program.
  • At least 2 years of paralegal experience, with 3 to 5 years preferred in litigation-related work.
  • Background supporting personal injury cases, medical records review, workers' compensation matters, or medical malpractice files.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage filings, deadlines, and procedural tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to oversee multiple matters at the same time.
  • Proficiency with case management platforms, electronic filing systems, and document management software.
  • Working knowledge of discovery, civil litigation processes, docketing, and trial preparation.
  • Clear and detail-oriented communication skills when interacting with clients and other legal stakeholders.
