Job Description

Jorge Law Firm is seeking a dependable, highly organized, and detail-oriented Bilingual Legal Assistant . This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who takes ownership of assigned responsibilities, follows established procedures, and can manage multiple priorities without sacrificing accuracy or client service. Applicants must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish and able to speak, read, and write professionally in both languages . Primary Responsibilities Welcome clients and visitors professionally and courteously Answer, screen, document, and route telephone calls Communicate with clients in English and Spanish by telephone, email, and text Monitor shared inboxes and address routine matters promptly Review messages, client notes, and file history before forwarding questions to another team member Investigate routine issues and take reasonable steps to resolve them independently Schedule consultations, appointments, and client meetings accurately Conduct initial client intake and collect required information Process payments and provide appropriate receipts Scan, upload, organize, and accurately label documents Receive, review, save, and properly route mail and government correspondence Open and maintain electronic client files Update client information, case notes, trackers, deadlines, and task statuses Follow up with clients regarding missing documents, signatures, payments, and appointments Confirm that assigned tasks are completed correctly and on time Support attorneys and paralegals with administrative and case-related responsibilities Follow the firm's established systems, checklists, and standard operating procedures Maintain strict confidentiality and protect sensitive client information Required Qualifications Professional fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish, including strong reading comprehension Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work Ability to multitask and manage competing assignments and deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Dependable, punctual, accountable, and consistent Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures Good judgment and the ability to identify and resolve routine issues independently Willingness to ask appropriate questions after first reviewing the available information Ability to take ownership of an assignment from beginning to completion Strong follow-through and timely communication when a task may be delayed Ability to receive feedback, make corrections, and avoid repeating the same errors Comfort using email, Microsoft Office, electronic calendars, client portals, and case-management software Ability to work effectively in a busy professional environment with frequent interruptions Prior experience in a law office, professional office, administrative position, or client-service role is preferred. Immigration-law experience is helpful but not required. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who does more than simply forward messages or wait for the next instruction. The right person will review the file, read prior notes, check the applicable procedure, and determine whether the matter can be handled before escalating it.

Pay close attention to names, dates, deadlines, attachments, and instructions Review work carefully before marking it complete Follow established procedures consistently Prioritize urgent matters without losing track of routine responsibilities Keep accurate and complete notes so other team members can understand what occurred Follow up without needing repeated reminders Communicate promptly when assistance is needed or a deadline may be at risk Accept responsibility for mistakes and take steps to correct them Treat every client with patience, professionalism, and respect Help maintain an organized and reliable office Schedule This is an in-office position during the firm's regular business hours: Monday through
