Overview Join Our Growing Team! Great Lakes Family Probate & Estates is excited to expand into Caseville, and we're looking for an organized, personable, and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to become an integral part of our new office. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and wants a career, not just a job. While prior legal experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right individual with strong administrative skills, excellent judgment, and a willingness to learn.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the daily operations of our Caseville office while remaining closely connected with our team through technology and regular communication. This position combines client service, legal administrative support, and office management responsibilities, including: Greeting clients and creating a welcoming office environment. Answering phones and scheduling appointments. Preparing, proofreading, and formatting estate planning documents and correspondence. Assisting attorneys with trust and probate administration. Reviewing deeds, legal descriptions, and public records. Conducting basic legal and property research. Preparing court forms and electronically filing documents with Michigan courts. Maintaining both electronic and paper client files. Coordinating document signing appointments and serving as a witness and notary (or willingness to become a notary). Communicating professionally with clients, courts, financial institutions, title companies, and other professionals. Assisting with marketing events, educational seminars, and community outreach. Performing general office administrative duties as needed. Qualifications Excellent organizational and time management skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Strong proofreading abilities. Professional appearance and customer service skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Comfort learning new technology and legal software. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to work independently while also collaborating with attorneys and staff at our other office locations. Previous law office experience. Experience with probate, estate planning, real estate, banking, title work, insurance, or court administration. Electronic court filing experience. $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
