Firm Leadership About the Position We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and motivated Paralegal / Legal Assistant Supervisor & Trainer to join our team. This position will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day performance of our paralegal and legal assistant team while developing and maintaining effective training programs, workflows, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced legal professional who understands the demands of a fast-paced law firm, has excellent communication and organizational skills, and can confidently lead, coach, train, and hold team members accountable. This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate will not only supervise and train staff but will also assist with legal support responsibilities and help ensure that the firm's standards, procedures, and expectations are consistently followed. Key Responsibilities Team Supervision & Leadership Supervise and support paralegals and legal assistants in their day-to-day responsibilities. Assign and coordinate workloads to ensure deadlines and priorities are met. Monitor paralegals/legal assistants performance, productivity, attendance, and adherence to firm policies. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance guidance. Identify performance concerns and work with firm leadership to address them appropriately. Foster a professional, collaborative, and accountable work environment. Serve as a resource for staff when questions or issues arise. Training & Development Develop and conduct onboarding and ongoing training for paralegals and legal assistants. Create training materials, checklists, procedures, and reference guides. Train new employees on firm systems, processes, workflows, and expectations. Identify areas where additional training or development is needed. Conduct refresher training when processes, technology, or firm policies change. Help ensure employees understand and consistently follow established procedures. Develop standardized workflows to improve efficiency and consistency across the team. Quality Control & Workflow Management Review work product for accuracy, completeness, organization, and compliance with firm procedures. Monitor case-related deadlines, task completion, and workflow efficiency. Identify recurring errors or inefficiencies and implement solutions. Assist in developing and maintaining standardized procedures for case management and administrative tasks. Ensure appropriate documentation and file organization. Help improve communication and coordination between attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other departments. Legal Support Provide hands-on paralegal/legal assistant support as needed. Assist attorneys and staff with case-related administrative and legal tasks. Assist with document preparation, filing, discovery, correspondence, calendaring, and case organization as appropriate. Help troubleshoot workflow and case-management issues. Step in to support the team during periods of high workload or staffing shortages. Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or similar legal support role. Previous supervisory, leadership, training, or team-lead experience. Experience working in a law firm environment required. Strong understanding of legal office procedures and professional standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to train employees with different levels of experience. Comfortable providing constructive feedback and holding team members accountable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case-management software. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. We are looking for someone who can recognize when a process is not working, determine how it can be improved, and then effectively train the team to implement the solution.
