Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting complex litigation cases across various practice areas, including personal injury. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced law office environment where your expertise will directly contribute to successful client outcomes. Duties Assist attorneys with case preparation. Manage and organize case files using document management systems such as Clio, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible. Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail. Review and analyze documents for relevance and accuracy during document review processes; prepare summaries for attorney review. Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases. Maintain accurate data entry of case information into legal case management systems; ensure timely updates of case status reports. Provide executive administrative support including managing calendars, handling phone etiquette professionally, and performing clerical tasks such as filing, transcription, and data entry. Skills Extensive knowledge of litigation procedures across diverse practice areas including personal injury law. Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw to support case development. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and correspondence; proofreading for accuracy. Effective interviewing techniques to gather detailed witness statements or client information. Familiarity with legal case management systems for tracking case progress and document review workflows. Ability to perform thorough legal research on complex topics such as securities laws or tribal regulations as needed. Exceptional clerical experience including filing procedures, data entry accuracy, phone etiquette professionalism, and administrative support tasks. Strong project management skills to coordinate litigation activities efficiently from initial client contact through trial preparation.
