A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Please read job description in it's entirety before applying ! We are a small, busy law firm seeking to fill the position of Legal Assistant on our collections team. Responsibilities of the job include (but are not limited to): drafting of documents such as simple court pleadings, understanding and entering data in the firm's various software programs, answering multi-line telephones and routing the calls to the appropriate person, electronic document transmission and e-filing, client contact, typing of documents, using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.
Ideal candidates would:
Have a background in customer service or related field; Have an enthusiastic interest in the law; Be skilled at data entry and reading comprehension, with an eye for detail; Be able to follow instructions and procedures with minimal errors; Have a confident and outgoing personality; Be a team player, exude professionalism, and be able to build rapport with clients, potential clients, and others; Be able to prioritize tasks independently, manage their time effectively, and be punctual. Previous office and/or legal work experience preferred but not required. Previous collections experience helpful but not required. Hours are full time Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm .
