Swenson Lervick is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our team in Alexandria, Minnesota. This position will primarily support attorneys practicing in the areas of family law and collections. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a professional office environment. Prior experience working in a law firm, particularly in family law or collections, is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities may include:
Preparing, formatting, and filing legal documents and correspondence Maintaining client files and case information Communicating professionally with clients, courts, attorneys, and other parties Managing calendars, deadlines, and scheduling Assisting with court filings and service of documents Providing administrative support to attorneys Assisting with collection matters and related correspondence Other general legal and office support as needed Preferred qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Prior legal assistant, administrative, or law office experience preferred Experience with family law and/or collections is a plus Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage deadlines Professional and courteous communication with clients and others Comfortable working with computers, Microsoft Office, and electronic document systems Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately This is a full-time position. Compensation is competitive and based upon experience.
