Description We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to support a busy legal practice (remotely) for our client. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can quickly assess case files, prepare accurate draft documents, and keep matters moving forward with strong attention to detail. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on litigation-related matters while helping manage filings, documentation, and client-related coordination. Candidates who are organized, proactive, and comfortable using legal technology will be well suited for this opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Review case files to identify key facts, procedural status, and next steps needed to support ongoing legal matters.
- Prepare initial drafts of pleadings, responses, motions, and other litigation documents for attorney review.
- Monitor matter activity and recognize when important issues, deadlines, or case developments should be escalated to the attorney.
- Coordinate document execution, obtain required signatures, and manage electronic filing through Minnesota court systems.
- Maintain organized records and case materials using platforms such as Clio and Microsoft Office tools.
- Assist with litigation support activities, including discovery preparation, trial-related documentation, and case tracking.
- Communicate professionally with clients and other parties as responsibilities expand within the role.
- Support balance-related or financial document handling with basic familiarity in numerical data entry and 10-key concepts. Requirements
- At least 5 years of paralegal experience with a stable work history in legal support roles.
- Practical experience drafting litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and related court filings.
- Background in civil litigation; family law experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with discovery processes, trial preparation, and case management procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Clio or similar case management software.
- Ability to learn and work within Minnesota e-filing procedures with accuracy and attention to deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple active matters effectively.
