Pontello, Bressler, Norwood & Associates, LLC is seeking a full-time paralegal to join our Social Security Disability practice. This position will work directly with attorneys and clients throughout the disability claims process, with a particular focus on preparing cases for administrative hearings and representing Social Security disability claimants at hearings before Administrative Law Judges . The position also includes responsibility for hearing scheduling, client communication, and development of medical and other evidence needed to prepare cases for hearing.

Full-time Responsibilities Represent Social Security Disability claimants at administrative hearings after completing required training and becoming eligible to serve as a non-attorney representative Prepare claimants for disability hearings Review medical records, disability files, and Social Security exhibits Identify missing medical evidence and develop files for hearing Request and follow up on medical records and other evidence Coordinate and schedule hearings, client appointments, and case deadlines Communicate regularly with clients regarding their cases and upcoming hearings Work with attorneys to identify important medical, vocational, and procedural issues Maintain organized and complete electronic case files Communicate with Social Security hearing offices, medical providers, and other third parties Assist with other Social Security Disability case-management duties as needed Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organization and attention to detail Comfortable speaking with clients and advocating on their behalf Ability to review and understand substantial medical records Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and multiple deadlines Reliable, professional, and able to work independently after training Comfortable learning Social Security Disability law, medical terminology, and hearing procedures Prior legal, Social Security, medical-records, or disability-related experience is helpful but not required We are willing to train the right candidate.
