Elmore Litton Law Firm, P.A. -- Ridgeland, MS 39157 Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidates will have 2-5 years of experience along with assisting attorneys with case preparation, client communication, and legal research related to immigration matters. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their legal skills within a dynamic and client-focused environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our immigration law practice and providing exceptional support to clients navigating complex legal processes. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with preparing and organizing immigration-related legal documents, forms, and filings. Conduct legal research on immigration laws, policies, and procedures to support case development. Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information, provide updates, and answer routine questions regarding their cases. Manage case files, maintain accurate records, and track deadlines to ensure timely submissions. Draft correspondence, affidavits, declarations, and other legal documents as needed. Coordinate with government agencies and external entities involved in immigration processes. Support attorneys during client meetings and hearings by preparing relevant documentation and notes. Stay informed about changes in immigration laws and regulations that may impact ongoing cases. Requirements Basic knowledge of legal procedures or education related to immigration law is preferred; strong interest in immigration law is essential. Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce well-structured documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel); Case management systems or document review platforms is preferred. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in document preparation and data entry. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Professional demeanor with a commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
