About Us Denham Property & Injury Law is a plaintiff-side law firm representing homeowners and property owners whose insurance companies have underpaid, delayed, or denied legitimate claims. Based in Lexington, Kentucky, we operate across multiple states and are growing quickly. We move fast, take our clients' situations seriously, and hold ourselves to a high standard of preparation and follow-through. The Role We are looking for a Legal Assistant to support attorneys in our Charlotte, North Carolina office across a high-volume active caseload. You will keep cases moving, clients informed, and deadlines tracked while also drafting demand letters, complaints, and other legal documents under attorney supervision. You will interact regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and adjusters on behalf of the firm.   • Produces high-quality work by leveraging tools and resources in an efficient manner What You'll Do Draft basic legal documents under attorney supervision Manage attorney calendars and schedule depositions, client meetings, hearings, and calls Communicate with clients on case status, upcoming appointments, and next steps Correspond with opposing counsel, court reporters, process servers, and other external parties on behalf of attorneys Maintain and organize case files in our case management system, ensuring records are current and accurate Track case deadlines, follow up on outstanding items, and flag anything at risk to the responsible attorney Prepare and send routine correspondence and documentation under attorney supervision Support attorneys with day-to-day administrative needs across their caseloads
What We're Looking For Required:
Strong written communication skills — you draft clearly, professionally, and accurately Exceptionally organized — you manage multiple priorities simultaneously Reliable and proactive — you follow up, follow through, and flag problems before they become emergencies Calm under pressure — this is a fast-paced environment with a high active caseload Detail-oriented — errors in legal documents and missed deadlines have real consequences for clients Comfortable with technology — you will use our case management system, Microsoft 365, AI tools, and a VoIP phone system Preferred (not required): Prior experience in a legal, insurance, or professional services environment Familiarity with legal drafting, terminology, or court procedures Experience working in a litigation environment Who Thrives in This Role You'll do well here if you are a strong writer who takes ownership of their work, stays organized when juggling competing priorities, and finds satisfaction in keeping things running smoothly.
