Job Description

Legal Assistant/Paralegal We are a growing law firm that does primarily criminal, traffic and DWI's, estates, and real estate work. We are seeking an additional full-time employee for the role of criminal and court paralegal. This position has room to grow and develop as you develop! You must be able to adeptly handle a multi-line phone system, maintain a clean and organized work area, professionally greet and assist clients in person and via phone, in addition to maintaining good work habits (timeliness, consistent attendance, and a "can-do" attitude). You must be familiar with North Carolina General Statutes and their use and have the ability to perform legal research as needed. You will also assist with several office management/administrative tasks, including case & attorney calendar management, filing case information in the court's e-filing system, printing, preparing daily solicitation letters, and various miscellaneous duties as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
First, you must have at least 2 years of experience with a criminal law or district and superior court attorney. Preferably, you will have a paralegal certificate. You must be dedicated to developing a career, not simply "having a job." You will need to have excellent phone etiquette and communication skills and present a professional appearance. You must also be able to prioritize, work independently, and successfully multitask while maintaining excellent customer service. You will need to be computer proficient, with strong typing and writing skills and the ability to quickly learn and become proficient in the use of CRM programs. As is with all legal positions, it is critical that you be detail-oriented and work effectively both independently and within a team and keep confidential information confidential.
