Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and detail-oriented Bilingual Legal Assistant to join our legal team and work closely with our Spanish speaking clients. Responsibilities:
Staff multiple phone lines, take messages and redirect calls when appropriate; use texting, billing, and case management software where appropriate Provide administrative support to multiple lawyers and paralegals Handle extensive client contact via phone, email, text, and in-person in English and Spanish Conduct initial screenings of clients and facilitate electronic intakes Open, maintain, and close client files electronically Execute and follow-up on client billing and accounts and meticulous documentation of communications Prepare and manage multiple calendars, provide timely reminders to attorneys and staff, and ensure deadlines are met Work effectively with a diverse group of clients Take files to clerks and courthouses and other errands as needed
Qualifications:
A minimum of one year experience with a law firm is required. References will also be required. Must be fluent in Spanish and English. Must be proficient in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Spanish. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong project management and organizational skills, focused attention on detail, completed follow-up on tasks, and the ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision Proficient technology skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Dropbox, Google Calendar, and Apple iOS preferred. Technology literacy and willingness to learn new practice technologies and software is required. Experience with Clio case management preferred Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and discretion and comply with confidentiality requirements A valid driver's license and good driving record is required. Company dress code requires business casual/professional attire. Salary negotiable based on experience.
