This role offers the opportunity to work across several areas of law, including Criminal, Civil, and Family Law. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and proactive, with strong communication and writing skills and a genuine interest in supporting clients through meaningful legal work. As an essential part of a small, client‑focused office, you will assist with case management, document preparation, scheduling, and client communication. Your work will play a key role in keeping each matter moving forward smoothly and ensuring that clients feel supported and cared for throughout their legal process. Duties Assist with legal research across multiple practice areas such as Criminal, Civil, and Family Law. Manage legal documents using case management systems like MyCase, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Google Workspace. Work closely with the attorney to draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as complaints, pleadings, correspondence, and reports. Organize and maintain case files through effective document review and filing systems. Support litigation processes through document review, discovery coordination, and trial preparation. Conduct legal research to support case strategy, client advisories, and ongoing matters. Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, scheduling, calendar management, and answering phone calls with professionalism and a friendly, client‑focused attitude. Assist with client intake, interviews, and document collection for criminal and family law matters, as well as other legal proceedings. Support project management needs related to active cases and firm initiatives. Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with legal and ethical standards. Qualifications Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Office Assistant is helpful but not required. Comfortable conducting legal research and willing to learn new systems and processes. Familiarity with document management platforms and confidence using technology. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep a solo practice running smoothly. Strong writing and proofreading skills for drafting documents and professional correspondence. Warm, effective client communication skills, especially during intake and interviews. Clerical and administrative experience, including filing systems, scanning, and general office support. Professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills to ensure positive client interactions.

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
