Typical work assignments will include:
Conducting legal research using in-depth knowledge of the applicion of various laws, court and/or administrive decisions and interpretions reled to internional narcotics and money laundering crimes. Organizing and preparing research merial and determines informion th is pertinent to the case. Drafting legal documents th identify the legal or factual issues in the case, loce, precedents and develop legally supportable conclusions. Assisting Assistant United Stes Attorneys (AUSA) in court during hearings and trials. Participing in pre-trial witness conferences, noting any deficiencies in case merials (e.g., missing documents, conflicting stements) and additional issues or other mters requiring investigion prior to trial. Examples of specialized experiences may include the following: independently analyzing and evaluing legal decisions and case files to identify relevant issues and potential evidence; independently conducting legal research concerning precedents and past court decisions; independently composing legal briefs, summaries of analyses and decisions, and pre-trial documents; interviewing witnesses and various individuals who can provide insight into cases under review; and preparing evidence and documents to support recommendions.
OR Educion:
One of the following types of educion in a reled field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law): a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level gradue educion leading to such a degree; or LL.M. Educion the gradue level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstre the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
OR Combining Educion and Experience:
Combinions of successfully completed gradue educion and experience may be used to meet total qualificion requirements.
