Legal Assistant - Full-time Shaheen and Gordon, P.A. is seeking an energetic and detail oriented full-time Legal Assistant to work with the Criminal Defense staff in the Dover, NH office. The ideal candidate is a professional with a desire to further their career in the legal field and must demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a team, in addition to working independently. The responsibilities assigned to this role include: Duties include, but not limited to: Open and maintain criminal defense case files from intake through resolution and closing Receiving, scanning, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail correspondence Managing new client matters, including performing conflict checks, drafting engagement letters for attorney approval, and coordinating the client intake process File management for both paper and electronic files, including uploading and renaming documents in document management program Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, notices, and other documents for attorney review Maintain attorneys' calendars, including court dates, hearings, client meetings, and deadlines Serve and file pleadings in state courts, in hard copy and electronically Communicate by phone and email with potential new clients, existing clients, and opposing counsel
Requirements:
