Job Description

Legal Assistant About the Firm We are a law firm primarily focused on personal injury litigation and criminal/municipal court matters . We are seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Legal Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable communicating with clients and courts, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. Responsibilities Draft and prepare professional correspondence, letters, and other legal documents File pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other documents with courts and government agencies Assist with case-related administrative tasks and maintain organized electronic and physical files Answer and manage incoming phone calls and route inquiries appropriately Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties Coordinate and maintain attorney and office calendars Schedule client appointments, court appearances, meetings, and other events Monitor deadlines and help ensure important dates and filings are completed timely Prepare documents and materials for court appearances, hearings, and meetings Enter and update case information and maintain accurate records Assist attorneys with general administrative and case-management duties as needed Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client and case information with discretion Qualifications Prior experience in a law firm, legal office, or similar professional environment preferred, but not required. Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Strong attention to detail and accuracy Professional and courteous telephone and client communication skills Comfortable working with computers, email, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing systems Ability to learn and navigate court filing procedures and case-management systems Experience with personal injury, criminal, or municipal court matters is a plus, but not required Must be reliable, professional, and able to work independently What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates effectively, and understands the importance of accuracy and deadlines in a legal environment. The right candidate will be organized, dependable, and comfortable interacting with clients while providing strong administrative support to the attorneys and the firm.
