A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Primary Job Duties:
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery demands and responses, correspondence, and discovery motions Organize, chart, and process incoming records and invoices Follow up on outstanding records via phone, email, and mail Prepare answers and legal correspondence Manage a large caseload while supporting multiple attorneys Review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure Conduct case law research to support defense strategies Assist attorneys in preparing for mediation and trial Retrieve and save documents using the firm's document management systemKey Competencies:
