Role Description The Medical Malpractice Paralegal is a full-time, on-site position based in Roseland, NJ. This role involves supporting attorneys handling medical malpractice matters, including organizing case files, managing deadlines, and maintaining accurate case management systems. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and reviewing medical records, preparing chronologies and summaries, drafting and formatting pleadings, discovery demands, and correspondence, as well as assisting with trial preparation such as exhibit lists, witness lists, and binders. The paralegal will communicate with clients, medical providers, experts, and court personnel, schedule depositions and meetings, and help coordinate expert reviews and reports. The role also includes conducting factual and legal research, ensuring compliance with court rules, and contributing to the efficient and organized progression of cases from intake through resolution. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a paralegal, preferably in medical malpractice, personal injury, or complex civil litigation, with strong case management abilities. Proficiency in reviewing, organizing, and summarizing medical records and other technical documentation, with high attention to detail and accuracy. Strong drafting and editing skills for pleadings, discovery documents, letters, and memoranda, including excellent grammar, spelling, and formatting. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with attorneys, clients, medical professionals, experts, and court staff in a professional manner. Advanced organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain comprehensive, orderly files. Comfort with legal research tools and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, document management systems, case management software). Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; prior law firm experience strongly beneficial. Willingness to be on-site in Roseland, NJ daily and occasionally work extended hours based on case needs.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
