Job Description
Litigation ParalegalPosition Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support our litigation team in all phases of civil and family law matters. The successful candidate will assist attorneys with case management, document preparation and review, discovery, efiling, and trial preparation. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Family law experience is a plus.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day case files and maintain organized, up-to-date case records and dockets.
Prepare and file court documents, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence; handle efiling and court portals.
Draft and assemble discovery requests and responses, conduct document review, and organize production materials.
Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel; schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings.
Prepare trial binders, exhibits, witness materials, and demonstratives; attend hearings, trials, and depositions to provide on-site support.
Perform legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations for attorneys.
Maintain and operate document management and case management systems; manage indexing, scanning, and Bates-stamping.
Assist with billing, timekeeping, and case budgeting; track deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
Review and redact sensitive documents to ensure confidentiality and privilege protection.
Support family law matters when assigned, including preparation of financial disclosures, parenting plans, and related filings.
QualificationsAssociate degree or certificate in paralegal studies, bachelors degree, or equivalent legal experience.
Minimum 3 years of litigation paralegal experience; family law exposure or experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency with document management and efiling systems and familiarity with discovery platforms and electronic document review tools.
Strong drafting and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to prepare court-ready documents.
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities; able to prioritize under tight deadlines.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills for client contact and collaboration with attorneys and staff.
Working knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, and court filing requirements.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professional ethics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and experience with legal practice management software; experience with tools such as Relativity or iManage is a plus.
