SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Paralegal will provide operational and administrative support to the Legal and Compliance departments. The position will play a pivotal role in keeping the office functioning efficiently, from coordinating meetings and maintaining complete and accurate files, to drafting and reviewing legal documents. This is a hands-on position that involves working collaboratively with other teams. The Paralegal has a strong ability to multitask, is organized, diligent, and can work both independently and as part of a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare/draft legal documents and correspondence (such as orders, Business Associate Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, learning agreements. Prepare/draft court and administrative filings Manage Subpoenas process Manage records, files, and documents Conduct legal and regulatory research to ensure the business complies with applicable laws. Assist in the management of real estate and leasing process Manage department schedules Take minutes/notes as needed in meetings and maintain files on same Prepare and distribute agendas and notices for meetings Coordinate document collection for audits and investigations requests Prepare and maintain agreements using standard contract boilerplates Type general correspondence, resolutions, petitions, motions, notices, and other legal documents Accept and process legal notices Liaises between legal and compliance departments and outside parties Completes all agency required trainings. Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS 1-5
years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant (preferably in a law firm or in a corporate legal department) A degree in paralegal studies or paralegal certificate is preferred. Detail-oriented and highly organized Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Knowledge of Westlaw products is preferred Working knowledge of DocuSign
