Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant will be directly responsible for supporting Partners, Senior Attorneys, Associates, in various practice areas, on all aspects of legal document preparation, client communication, and general office procedures. A strong attention to detail, commitment to quality work product, and client service skills are required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain a professional and welcoming front desk environment. Greet clients and guests, notify attorneys or staff of arrivals, and assist with visitor coordination. Generate and send replenishment requests to clients in accordance with firm policies. Following up with clients regarding outstanding replenishment and account receivable payments through email and phone communication. Maintain electronic and physical files according to company procedures. Scan and post all correspondence, emails, notes from telephone calls, and faxes to ensure proper file compliance. Maintain task lists for documents and court deadlines. Electronic calendar maintenance for attorneys. Assisting Attorneys will 100% client contact with law firm clients. Draft legal documents and correspondence, as directed. Prepare and assemble materials, documents, and exhibits for meetings, court appearances, and hearings. Schedule appointments for attorneys. Research inquiries and requests for information. General office duties as assigned for the professional operation of a law firm.
Qualifications:
One to two years of law firm or office experience. Must be a self-starter, work well with co-workers, and perform all secretarial duties. Two-year legal assistant or paralegal education preferred. Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office, Excel, Westlaw, and document management software or equivalent. I must be able to prepare draft documentation using Word or through templates and be able to revise and finalize as directed. Prior experience with KPIs and metrics preferred. Notary Public is preferred.
