Role :
The Medicaid Specialist (Paralegal) will play a key role in helping families obtain and maintain Medicaid eligibility for long-term care services. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes attorneys, elder care coordinators, and administrative professionals - all working together to provide peace of mind to our clients. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit Medicaid applications and supporting documentation for nursing home and community cases Handle all phases of the Medicaid process, including eligibility assessments, asset preservation, and audit responses Maintain ongoing communication and follow-up with clients, caregivers, financial institutions, and government agencies Support attorneys in legal matters related to Medicaid planning and asset protection Track deadlines and ensure all required documentation is timely and accurately submitted Maintain detailed and organized case files in accordance with firm policies Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of direct Medicaid application and planning experience in New York State Strong understanding of Medicaid eligibility rules, including spousal impoverishment and asset transfer rules Experience with crisis planning and community-based Medicaid preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - especially with elderly clients and their families Empathy, patience, and a sincere commitment to helping others Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with legal case management systems Why Join Us?
