A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Queens based real estate management company looking to hire energetic, organized and detailed individual who is interested in growing their career within the Property Management sector of the Real Estate industry. You will assist in overseeing the company's Legal Department and provide executive administrative support. Duties would include but not be limited to commencing legal action for rental delinquencies, scheduling court appearances with management staff, coordinating court ordered repairs, keeping in constant contact with attorney's offices, supervising collection actions. Retrieving and providing information from various city agencies to company attorneys for processing of cases. Candidate should have NYC legal landlord tenant background.
Job Description:
  • Calendar future court appearances, future payments, and court-ordered repair work
  • Commence and follow up on all cases
  • Maintain electronic files
  • Process legal invoices
  • Prepare files for trial
  • Assist with DHCR work .
Assist with ordering supplies for buildings
Preferred:
  • Acquainted with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience in Property Management or interest to grow your career within the Real Estate industry
  • 1-2 years of experience working in an office setting
Job Type:

$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
