Job Description

Position Summary Seeking an experienced and motivated Calendar Clerk to join our team. A calendar clerk at Herman Katz LLP, is part of a team of dedicated professionals that handle high-volume calendar and case load. Schedule daily and monthly calendars for court appearances for attorneys and perform other administrative duties related to the Calendar Department in a well-organized manner. The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, time management skills, reliability and dependability in fulfilling department obligations with the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties Maintain the firm's court calendars in our case management system, including appearances, conferences, return dates, motion dates, filing and service deadlines, review dates, and follow-up dates. Review court notices, scheduling orders and correspondence to accurately calculate and enter all applicable deadlines Verify appearances, adjournments, changed dates, and filing information through eCourts, WebCivil, NYSCEF, or direct communication with the appropriate jurisdictions. Prepare and distribute internal firm calendars. Monitor deadlines and unresolved items; maintain internal tracking records; follow up for missing information or attorney review; audit entries; and promptly escalate timesensitive matters. Support recurring County, Town, Village, and RPTL Section 718 calendar cycles. Requirements Three to five years oflegal calendaring or comparable legal-administrative experience ideally in litigation, real estate or tax certiorari or similar high-volume litigation practice. Strong knowledge of New York court calendaring, adjournment procedures, filing and service deadlines, eCourts, WebCivil, and NYSCEF. Experience with document management systems with proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat as well as case management systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work professionally with attorneys, staff, court personnel, and outside offices. Ability to work independently and able to prioritize and meet high volume demands and deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits Salary:
[minimum] -[maximum] per year, based upon experience. Benefits include health insurance, a 401 (k) plan, and paid time off (PTO).
Pay:
$53,154.84 - $64,014.43 per year
