Office Assistant (30 Hours/Week) Melville, NY | $25.00 per hour | In-Office Position Bartlett LLP is seeking a dependable, organized Office Assistant to join our busy insurance defense/medical malpractice law firm. This position plays an important role in supporting our attorneys, legal assistants, and office operations. We are looking to fill this position immediately. This is an in-office position based in our Melville office. The position is currently scheduled for approximately 30 hours per week , with the potential for additional hours based on business needs. While we anticipate maintaining a consistent schedule, some flexibility may be available. Responsibilities Process incoming and outgoing mail, including scanning, electronic distribution, certified mail, FedEx, and USPS mailings Scan, save, and organize documents within our document management system Assist with medical records, including downloading, organizing, processing, and redacting records Prepare legal binders, redwells, exhibits, and other litigation materials Print, copy, scan, and assemble legal documents Maintain and organize physical client files and records File documents and maintain records in an organized manner Run local errands, including the post office, courthouse, office supply stores, and other business-related tasks Assist legal assistants and attorneys with administrative projects as needed Support general office operations and other special projects assigned by management Qualifications Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) Comfortable learning new software and office technology Ability to lift boxes of files and supplies and move throughout the office as needed Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Prior office or legal office experience is preferred but not required What We Offer $25.00 per hour Approximately 30 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours Professional, team-oriented work environment Opportunity to learn and grow within a respected law firm Bartlett LLP is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
