Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Matrimonial/Litigation Paralegal. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with preparing for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings. Candidate should have an understanding of litigation and matrimonial law, including net worth statements, pleadings, Judgments of Divorce, stipulations of settlement, discovery and pretrial preparation. Candidate should have familiarity with e-filing procedures and Practice Panther Case Management System. Prior experience or foundation with personal injury law and Surrogates Court procedure is a plus but not mandatory. Duties Draft, proofread, and manage various legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Organize and maintain document management systems for easy access to case files. Assist attorneys during trials by preparing exhibits and managing evidence. Perform data entry tasks related to case management and documentation. Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and experts while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and timelines for litigation. Qualifications Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a legal environment. Possess knowledge of litigation processes and procedures. Familiarity with case management software is preferred. Attention to detail in proofreading legal documents. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
