Job Description

The Law Office of Michael S. Juarez, P.C. is an immigration law firm committed to providing high-quality legal services and personalized attention to our clients. Our firm is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) immigration paralegal to join our growing team. We are looking for an ambitious, organized, and detail-oriented team member who is interested in developing their career in immigration law. The ideal candidate will have experience with USCIS filings and/or National Visa Center (NVC) consular processing , although we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and file USCIS petitions and applications , including I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131, I-864, I-751,I-918, I-360, N-400, and other family-based and humanitarian immigration forms. Prepare and manage VAWA, U Visa, and other USCIS humanitarian filings , as applicable. Prepare Adjustment of Status and Consular Processing cases. Prepare and submit NVC immigrant visa packages , including DS-260, Affidavit of Support documentation, civil documents, and supporting evidence. Monitor USCIS and NVC case status , deadlines, notices, requests for evidence, and other correspondence. Assist with responding to USCIS Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other agency correspondence under attorney supervision. Prepare and organize supporting documentation and evidence for USCIS and NVC submissions. Review client documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency. Communicate with clients regarding required documents, case updates, deadlines, and next steps. Conduct client intake and assist attorneys with preparing cases and gathering supporting evidence. Draft and organize sworn statements, declarations, cover letters, and supporting documentation under attorney supervision. Assist with translations and review translated documents for accuracy. Answer client questions by email, text message, and telephone in a professional and timely manner. Maintain organized electronic and physical case files. Track case deadlines and follow up with clients regarding outstanding documents and information. Assist with consular processing and immigrant visa cases , including communication and coordination related to NVC requirements and consular interviews. Conduct basic legal and procedural research relating to USCIS and NVC processes under attorney supervision. Qualifications 1-2 years of immigration law experience preferred , particularly experience with USCIS filings and/or NVC cases. Experience preparing immigration forms and supporting documentation strongly preferred. Familiarity with USCIS procedures, family-based immigration, adjustment of status, consular processing, and NVC procedures is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced law office. Fluent in Spanish and English , including the ability to read and write in both languages. Strong computer and document-management skills. Professional and compassionate communication with clients. Ability to work independently while following attorney instructions and office procedures. Notary Public license preferred. Willingness to learn and grow within the firm.
