Since our founding in 2000, we've grown into a leading force in debt recovery, providing trusted and comprehensive legal solutions for financial institutions nationwide. Our teams are driven, collaborative, and committed to delivering results and we are currently seeking Legal Assistants/Paralegals to join our team as part of a high‑volume civil recovery effort. These positions are needed as soon as possible to reinforce our commitment to operational excellence and meet our strict standards of compliance and accuracy. Key Responsibilities Review files to determine status and appropriate next steps. Follow up with internal and external parties to resolve pending issues. Ensure files move through litigation and post‑judgment processes efficiently. Obtain legal documents from court websites. Import documents into the firm's case‑management system. File legal documents with the court. Assist with docket management. Prepare, review, and assemble trial packages. Generate and prepare legal documents for attorney review. Generate and track judgment documents. Communicate with enforcement officers, courts, banks, process servers, attorneys, and consumers. Record information in the firm's case‑management system. High‑volume civil process responsibilities Be thoroughly knowledgeable of the legal processes in the relevant states and understand how work is queued throughout the legal process. Oversee compliance with client‑work standards in handling cases. Escalate matters to the appropriate manager if not resolved with the applicable team. Manage large volumes of civil recovery work with a focus on speed, accuracy, and compliance. Analyze workflow, identify bottlenecks, and propose process improvements. Maintain clear, professional communication with clients and stakeholders. Provide feedback on processes and actively seek best‑practice solutions. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Minimum two years of general office experience with at least one year of legal office experience or equivalent education. Proven experience in high‑volume civil process environments. Knowledge of legal principles and terminology. Ability to work with databases and online technological platforms. Ability to be self‑reliant and initiate communication with management. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and detail‑oriented skills. Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with minimal direction. Proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Intermediate Excel skills:
Pivot Tables, data sorting, basic formulas (e.g., days outstanding).
Preferred:
PowerBI and advanced Excel functions. Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format. Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner.
