This position will support a complex litigation docket involving product liability, mass tort, multi-plaintiff, MDL, commercial, and other complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced managing multiple litigation matters and deadlines while working closely with attorneys, outside counsel, insurers, vendors, and internal business teams.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate multiple litigation matters from initial claim through resolution. Maintain case calendars, pleadings, discovery deadlines, deposition schedules, expert deadlines, trial dates, and settlement documentation. Assist with pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, deposition materials, exhibits, and trial preparation. Coordinate discovery, including document preservation, collection, review, and production. Administer legal holds and work with IT, custodians, outside counsel, and e-discovery vendors. Maintain litigation databases, document repositories, production logs, and privilege materials. Track plaintiff/claimant information, medical records, product documentation, settlement criteria, liens, releases, and dismissals. Coordinate with outside counsel, experts, witnesses, insurers, vendors, and internal departments. Support product liability claims, insurance matters, significant product incidents, recalls, and related risk-management activities. Prepare litigation status reports, timelines, case summaries, budgets, and executive-level reports. Review outside counsel invoices and assist with legal budgets, accruals, and spending forecasts. Assist with factual and legal research and prepare materials under attorney supervision. Handle confidential and attorney-client privileged information with discretion.
Qualifications:
7+ years of progressively responsible litigation paralegal experience. Substantial experience with mass tort, MDL, multi-plaintiff, or complex product liability litigation. Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, e-discovery, legal holds, subpoenas, depositions, and trial preparation. Experience managing high-volume litigation matters with competing deadlines. Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 and litigation technology, document management, e-discovery, docketing, and legal billing systems. Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and project-management skills. Experience working with attorneys, outside counsel, insurers, vendors, experts, and business stakeholders. Bachelor's degree and/or ABA-approved paralegal certificate required; equivalent experience may be considered. Corporate/in-house legal experience is strongly preferred.
