Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join an in-office legal team in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports two attorneys with a mix of litigation-related work and broader legal administrative responsibilities, making it a strong fit for someone who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to case preparation, court filing activity, and day-to-day practice support within a collaborative office environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and submit court documents through electronic filing systems while ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met. Support attorneys with litigation matters by organizing case materials, tracking developments, and assisting with discovery-related tasks. Maintain calendars for hearings, filings, meetings, and other key legal deadlines to help keep matters on schedule. Draft, format, and revise legal correspondence, pleadings, and other documentation based on attorney direction and dictated notes when needed. Coordinate and manage case files, ensuring records are complete, accessible, and updated throughout the life of each matter. Communicate with courts, clients, and outside parties regarding filings, scheduling, and document handling as appropriate. Provide day-to-day office support for two attorneys, balancing active case needs with general legal assistant and paralegal functions. Prior experience working in a paralegal or legal assistant role within a law office setting. Hands-on knowledge of electronic court filing procedures and related documentation standards. Familiarity with civil litigation processes, including discovery support and court document preparation. Strong calendar management skills with the ability to monitor and prioritize time-sensitive deadlines. Excellent organizational abilities and close attention to detail when handling legal records and filings. Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with attorneys, courts, and external contacts. Ability to work onsite in Akron, Ohio and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced legal environment.
