A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Job Overview The legal assistant/secretary will support attorneys in all aspects of elder law, estate planning, probate administration, and Medicaid planning matters. This role involves legal research, drafting legal planning documents, and working directly with clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with sensitive financial and personal information.

Duties :

Legal Research & Writing Conduct research on state laws related to elder law, Medicaid eligibility, guardianship, probate, and trust administration Draft memoranda, briefs, and correspondence Assist with preparation of court filings and administrative documents Estate Planning Support Draft and revise estate planning documents, including: Wills, Trusts, Powers of attorney, Health care documents, etc. Prepare asset summaries and funding instructions for trusts Assist with trust administration and probate matters Client & Administrative Support Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and financial institutions Maintain organized electronic and physical client files Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court and agency requirements Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; experience in lieu of a degree will be considered Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, experience with TABS3/PracticeMaster is a plus Familiarity with probate and administration proceedings and procedures Legal writing experience Ability to be flexible handle pressure in a client focused, fast-paced environment Our client is a well-established law firm renowned for providing compassionate legal services to families, individuals with special needs, and the elderly. Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
