Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Typical Hours:
Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (sometimes, we ask people who are available to stay later to help with urgent filings, etc.)Work-Life Balance:
Enjoy an early start to your weekend! While the position's typical workweek is around 36.5 hours, you will be paid for a full 40 hours . (No evenings or weekends required. No overtime required.)Compensation:
$17-$19 per hour (with potential for a higher rate based on experience)Location:
Convenient Tipp City office - avoid the long commute to Dayton and work close to home while serving local clients in the Miami Valley. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working on a variety of legal matters. You will play a key part in supporting our attorneys and keeping our office running smoothly while building relationships with our clients. Key Responsibilities As a Legal Secretary/Paralegal at Dysinger & Patry, LLC, you will:Support Multiple Practice Areas:
Provide legal and administrative support to our attorneys across various matters, including estate planning (wills, trusts), probate, real estate transactions, business contracts, personal injury cases, and domestic relations (family law).Document Preparation:
Prepare, draft, and proofread legal documents and correspondence (e.g., estate plans, court pleadings, contracts) with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Court Filings:
Manage the filing of documents with courts and government agencies - this includes electronic filings as well as occasional in-person filing at courthouses and recorder's office (some traveling with mileage reimbursement).Client Communication:
Communicate with clients, court staff, and other parties to schedule appointments, gather information, and provide case updates in a courteous and professional manner.File Management:
Organize and maintain client files and case records (physical and electronic), ensuring information is up-to-date and confidential materials are handled properly.Scheduling & Calendaring:
Assist with managing attorneys' calendars by scheduling meetings, hearings, and deadlines, and sending reminders to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.Errands & Court Visits:
Make occasional trips to local courthouses or offices to file documents or retrieve records (mileage for work-related travel is reimbursed ). Qualifications (Preferred, but not required for the right person) We are looking for a friendly, reliable professional who can take the initiative and work well in a small team setting.The ideal candidate will have:
Experience:
Prior experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or paralegal (especially in a law firm setting) is strongly preferred . Experience in any of our practice areas is a plus.Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong proofreading ability and keen attention to detail.Technical Proficiency:
Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams etc.) and ability to learn law practice software. Familiarity with Ohio court e-filing systems, CLIO, and Lexis is a plus.Organizational Ability:
Superb organizational and multitasking skills. You should be able to manage multiple cases and deadlines at once, and prioritize tasks effectively.Education:
A paralegal certificate or relevant college coursework is a bonus, but not required if you have equivalent on-the-job experience. We are willing to train the right person.
