A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Responsibilities:
1. Conducting extensive legal research and analysis on various medical malpractice cases. 2. Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, depositions, and mediations. 3. Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and subpoenas. 4. Filing legal documents with the appropriate courts and ensuring proper service. 5. Investigating and fact-finding for cases, including interviewing witnesses and gathering medical records. 6. Assisting in the preparation of legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions. 7. Maintaining communication with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel. 8. Managing and organizing case files and documents, ensuring all important information is easily accessible and up-to-date. 9. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. 10. Coordinating the discovery process, including drafting discovery requests and responses, organizing discovery materials, and coordinating depositions.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, specifically in medical malpractice. 2. A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent legal experience. 3. Proficient in legal research and writing, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures. 4. Excellent understanding of the litigation process, including filing and drafting legal documents. 5. Familiarity with liability laws and regulations. 6. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines. 7. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
