A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Obtaining, organizing, indexing, and maintaining medical records (digital and paper formats)
- Reviewing and analyzing medical records for completeness and accuracy
- Preparing medical summaries, chronologies, and related documentation
- Conducting medical research and assisting with expert witness coordination
- Communicating regularly with healthcare providers, experts, and attorneys
- Assisting with pleadings, reports, and other litigation support tasks
- Taking initiative on projects and proactively identifying and resolving issues
Qualifications:
- RN or BSN with hands-on nursing experience required; hospital experience in risk/patient safety beneficial but not required
- Prior paralegal experience is not required but candidates must demonstrate willingness to learn litigation processes and grow within the role
- Strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently
