JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Paralegal to join the Business Litigation practice group in our Harrisburg office. The associate will work closely with shareholders and Paralegals in Family Law and General Law practice areas on the full spectrum of clients. Some of the key anticipated responsibilities are listed below: Assignments as directed by attorneys within the Firm involving the drafting of legal documents, the filing of documents within both the state's filing system and the federal and PACER (CM/ECF) system. Managing multiple assignments and deadlines on a daily/weekly/long-term basis. Handle direct client contact and relationship management. Direct interaction with the Court, and, at times, opposing counsel and other third parties. Draft, review and oversee the execution of correspondence, research, reports, and email communication. Coordinate the scheduling of hearings and other matters, as well as the maintenance of group and attorney calendars. Work with Chief Compliance Officer on data security, privacy, policy making, and client-facing audits. Please note that we champion the development of all roles. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school or equivalent Two (2) or more years of experience as a Paralegal or related experience Experience using PACER to search dockets, party information, and download pleadings. Experience with state filings and familiarity with various county and prothonotary websites. Excellent communication skills Solid writing and editing skills with a focus on developing thoughtful and persuasive messaging Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environment Strong organizational, time management, and project management mindset Experience with Lackner, and Pro Series a plus. Experience with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, and other software Driven self-starter with a proactive approach to supporting counsel Commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork
BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with iManage document management system Experience filing court documents, electronically preferred Experience with ECF for federal court filings a plus Paralegal certificate Active Notary license
