Job Description

Eckert Seamans is a full-service national law firm with a strong reputation and history of success that spans more than 65 years. With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 14 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant for our White Plains, NY office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Preparation of legal documents such as letters, correspondence, briefs, notices, pleadings, and motions.

Familiar with state (NY & CT) and federal court rules, procedures, and filings (including e-filing) Experience with all aspects of NY Foreclosure Sales, including Bankruptcy searchesAs requested per attorney daily monitoring of deadlines, calendars, voicemails, answering of phoneAssist attorneys with trial preparation and provide trial support as requestedCoordination of conference calls, video conferences and other interpersonal communication as requested. General utilization and submission of clerical and administrative forms such as check requests and expense reportsMaintain client files (electronic and hard copy)Coordination of large-scale document jobs with Office ServicesCopying and scanning of documentsOpen and closing of client mattersProvide general assistance firmwide as a member of the legal support team as neededPerforms other related duties as assigned Skills/AbilitiesStrong verbal and written skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to prioritize tasks and multitaskAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to function well in a high paced environmentKnowledge of legal terminology and state and federal proceduresAptitude for learning new applications, systems, and processesProficient with electronic court filing preferredProficient with Microsoft Office365 and AdobeProficient with document management systems, iManage preferredProficient with redlining, track changes, table of authorities and table of contents preferred
Education and Experience:
High school degree or equivalent required; college degree preferred Minimum two years of experience as an assistant, preferably in a law firm environment Strong litigation experience and/or bankruptcy Experience with NY foreclosure sales

Remain stationary for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks such as working at a computerAbility to move throughout the office to attend meetings, access files, collaborate with colleagues, and use standard office equipment, including but not limited to; printers, copiers, scannersAbility to move files, documents, supplies, or materials up to 10 pounds]Travel expectation:
