A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparation of new hire paperwork, orientation scheduling, and exit documentation. Maintain employee records and ensure accurate and timely data entry into HRIS systems. Assist in planning and executing employee engagement activities, trainings, and internal communications. Help manage employee benefits administration and respond to general HR inquiries. Prepare HR-related documents and reports as requested. Conduct limited research on legal precedents, statutes, and regulations to assist the county attorney. Draft some letters and proofread legal documents. Prepare and file legal documents with the court, ensuring compliance with local rules and deadlines. Assist in organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders for court appearances. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum of 2 years of administrative support experience; experience in both HR and legal settings is highly desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and common HR/legal management systems. Understanding of how to electronically file legal documents in MyCase and Pacer. Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment. Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively while maintaining accuracy.
