Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant with at least 1 year of litigation experience to join our team in El Segundo. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is comfortable supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation. Experience in plaintiff-side employment law is a plus, but not required.
Requirements:
Speak, read, and write in English and Spanish Knowledge and experience with civil litigation rules and processes in California Superior courts Independently draft routine civil litigation complaints, discovery (propounding and responding), motions, briefs Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro Ability to efficiently analyze and prioritize routine legal tasks and projects Excellent communication and writing skills College degree not required, but preferred Graduate of ABA-approved paralegal program not required
Responsibilities:
Translate at client meetings to prepare for depositions, mediations, and trials File and serve legal documents with state and federal courts Independently draft complaints, discovery, motions, and mediation briefs Independently prepare routine legal documents Organize and maintain electronic case files and documents
