Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to support a small law firm practicing state and federal civil litigation in the following practice areas: real estate, construction, business, fraud, contracts, and collections. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating exceptional administrative skills, legal research expertise, and a proactive approach to case management. This position provides an engaging environment where your legal support skills will be utilized to support a team of three attorneys and another legal assistant. Duties Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including case management, scheduling, correspondence, and document management Assist with proof reading before filing to ensure high quality and mistake-free work product Manage case files through document review, organization within document management systems, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information Support litigation processes by preparing court filings, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with courts and clients Drafting motions for extension of time, notices of hearing, and other basic documents Maintain effective communication with clients via phone etiquette and professional client communication practices Support project management initiatives related to legal cases or firm operations to ensure timely completion of tasks Experience At least 5 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience is essential; familiarity with a Florida civil procedure and the Federal and State courts' filing systems is required Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent proofreading and transcription skills for accurate document review and drafting Demonstrated client communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette Familiarity with handling confidential information responsibly while maintaining high ethical standards Ability to support litigation processes through document review and civil litigation support activities Join us as a Legal Assistant if you're passionate about delivering exceptional legal support through meticulous organization, proactive research capabilities, and outstanding communication skills.
